Linen guest hand towels v. paper guest hand towels.?
For the past odd years, whenever I go to an event at someone's home they have paper guest hand towels. All very nicely decorated and in a nice box on the counter or the loo.
I still feel they look cheap and common. I've looked around for good, old-fashioned, re-usable, launderable white guest hand towels. Are they still even made?
I've seen linen guest towels in specialty boutiques, but they're pricey. There are, however, beautiful fingertip towels w/lace and embroidery in antique stores: they may be slightly flawed, but I think that just adds to their charm. They're also fairly inexpensive; if you purchased several you could probably get a good deal. (I agree w/you about the paper towels!)
