i dropped my samsung glyde in the sink and it won't turn on but it will charge?

the on/off button on the side won't work so i can't turn the phone on, but when i plug it in the charger the keypad lights up. when i get a new phone can they transfer my contacts even though i can't turn the phone on?
and i took apart the whole thing and blew dried it with the blowdryer and it still won't work :(
even though i can't turn it on if i buy that backup assistant thing can i still save all my contacts or do i need to be able to turn on my phone to work it

same thing happened to me when i was at att
heres the thing, verizon does not use sim chips, so i dont know what part of the phone needs to work for your contacts to survive

my suggestion is take it to the closest verizon retailer asap with a spare phone and ask them to transfer all your contacts like they do when you get a new phone

since you dropped it in the sink i assume you got it out of there prety quickly and dried it up fast, so im guessing even though most of the circuits got messed up whatever memory chip is in there is still alive
