Plumbing question - Fill Valve?
If I flush the toilet the drama begins. While the toilet is flushing, if I lift the lift of the lid of the tank cover NOT THE SEAT, water shoots up straight in the air from the top/cap of the fill valve.

Again, water shoots up straight from this area while the toilet is flushing. I think I should replace the fill valve. I tried to unscrew it but I'm not able to do that. I think I'm actually going to have to replace that thing. Help.
The fill valve column will have to removed from the top of the tank after you unscrew the nut under the bottom of the tank. Just be sure to turn off the water first. There should be a hand knob in the plumbing pipe that is between the wall and the bottom of the tank. If not, then you will have to turn off the water for the whole house until you are finished.
