wirless problems?
im having probs connecting to the internet via wireless. with a ethernet cable it works fine. last night it also worked fine via wireless, however today it connects wirless then after a min or two it will dissconnect then reconnet. it goes on like this. iv rang my provider and they have altered setting etc and confirmed its not the router with the problem, i though maybe it could be the wireless adaptor built into my laptop. i returned that to the store and they checked it. they have confirmed that it is not a problem with the adaptor. however im still getting this problem. been on the case 8 hours now and getting nowhere. im connecting via bt home hub. to a packard bell laptop with built in wireless. anyone know what could be wrong? im stuck thanks
Try this:
Go on your laptop,
Start>Run>cmd>ipconfig/all (enter)
you'll see several lines returned, check the last one, it will say something like like 'Lease expires.....'
Check the Time it gives, if its in a few minutes, then your router settings have probably changed and this is causing your IP to expire every few minutes.
You can change it back by going to your routers default ip address>Network settings> and adjusting the Lease time.
If the above fails, then reset your router, and configure it from the beginning.
After this if your still having problems, then you probably have some major interference in your area or network that is breaking the connection.
