Anyone wanna share their moving out stories?
So, I'm 174 and I already know where I'm moving to when I turn 18. I'll be moving to a 1 bed, 1 bath (and 1 outhouse) little farmhouse out in the country on my grandparents' land. It's a smaller house, but there is lots of land! The house is already fixed up pretty much - couch, bed, fridge, tables ect... and i'm planning on putting some kennels and agility feilds up for my dogs (i breed and show papillons and border collies). I'll be the only one living there, but my grandparents live pretty close...
So, how and when did you move out for the first time? What was it like? How did you make the transition?

I'm 23 now. I moved out when I was 17, a few months after I graduated. (My birthday is in November. I was always a few months younger than the other people in my classes)
I moved out mostly because I had no other choice. Our house was put up for sale by the landlord & my Mother was moving to North Carolina to take care of some things for my sister who was in the Army & going out on her 2nd tour to Iraq.
I wont lie. At first it was hard. It was hard because it took a long time to find some place affordable to live, the rent prices here are out of control. It was hard because finding somewhere that will rent to a person with a dog is incredibly difficult. Especially since I owned a larger breed. It was hard because I was just getting used to the idea of being out into the world out of school & I suddenly had a matter of weeks to get pushed out into my own place. It was hard because I was afraid for my sister.
I found a place that I could afford eventually & where I could keep my dog.
It was lonely sometimes. It was freeing other times. I've always been a loner by nature who prefers their own space & that part was nice. But it wasn't nice waking up in a house with no one else in it & eating my meals by myself. Coming home from work & being by myself.
I had my friends. My boyfriend. But it was still lonely sometimes.
Getting used to paying for EVERYTHING by myself was also challenge.
Soon I grew to really like it. I loved the idea that I didn't need to worry about anyone else. I learned to budget my money. I learned that this is how it was going to be. Once I stopped wishing for the comfort of how things used to be I started to be happy about how things were right then.
It was just a part of life. It had its challenges & positives.
