Which is better? Acura,Lexis,Infinite,Hyandai,or Benz? put in order 1-5 depending on Quality 5 meaning least.?
Me my self prefer Acura over them all and Hyundai as the least because its cheapest looking and less quality and more of a light weight luxury car compared to its heavyweight cousins!
I work on all these brands on a daily basis and can tell you this order is in my personal opinion a pretty accurate representation of quality
1. Lexus
2. Acura
3. Infiniti
4. Mercedes
5. Hyundai
Lexus is by far the highest quality. They are designed to be reliable and my mother owns one and the customer service/support is excellent. They are easy and cheap to work on, but you likely won't need to worry about that because all they ever need is regular maintenance type service. In my two years working as a Sears Auto tech and a healthy dose of Toyotas (Lexus) under my belt, I don't think I've ever put a starter, alternator, water pump, or anything similar in one. Acura is made by Honda and consequently you can run them for hundreds of thousands of miles with no issues as long as you keep up with prevetative maintainance. Hondas tend to need starters more but they are fairly easy to get to so labor isn't terribly high. Infiniti is made by Nissan, which are good cars, but are sligtly less reliable than #s 1 & 2. I've seen a lot of Infiniti interiors in bad shape also, but that may also say more about the people that tend to own them. There are a lot of people that like Mercedes but from a technician's standpoint I hate them. They are a pain in the butt to work on because of the way the good ol' germans designed them and you'll pay way more for parts than you need to because its a Mercedes. Overall the cost of ownership is just oo high. Also their overall quality is lacking for the price you pay for them. I put Hyundai at the bottom because it really is in a different catagory from the other brands you listed and even then, its not exactly at the top. They are not bad to work on, which is good because you'll probably be getting a gift basket from your mechanic before too long. The repairs they need usually end up being expensive and they kind of just implode at around 100,000 miles. In the business we put them in a category called "throw away cars" because its usually cheaper to just replace them at around 100k than to repair all the crap they need. Considering the caliber of the other vehicles you are considering, I think you will be disappointed if you buy a Hyundai. Whatever you do DON'T buy one used, you won't get the life out of it.
