How does prevailing wind, jet streams and the earths rotation affect the major biomes in Africa?
I’m doing a science project on Africa and I need to know how prevailing winds, jet streams and the earth’s rotation affect the biomes in Africa. Such as:
Shrub land
Ocean
Desert
Tropical Grassland
Tropical/rain forest
Temperate grassland
Mountain and highland
You don’t have to answer for all of those biomes, even a few would be helpful

The temperature is the warmest at the equator because this is where the sun is highest in the sky. Warm air rises, condenses and come down as rain. The African equatorial belt is a place of strong convection (rising air) and precipitations. This is where you find the rain forest.
The rising air has to come down somewhere. If it wasn't for the earth's rotation and the resulting Coriolis effect that diverts any slow moving fluid to the right in the northern hemisphere, and to the left, in the southern, perhaps that air would go all the way to the poles where it is cold and cold and denser air sinks.
But the Coriolis effect makes that air to spin and create two belts of high pressure at roughly latitudes 30 N and 30 S. Because sinking air warms up by the adiabatic effect of a higher pressure, those are belts of calm wind and clear sky. This is where you find the African deserts.
The rising and sinking of the air between the equator and sub-tropical high pressure belts is called the Hadley cell.
Because the air spins clockwise around a high pressure, and counter-clockwise around a low one, in the northern hemisphere (the southern is just the opposite) between the tropical lows and sub-tropical highs, there is an easterly prevailing wind that, at sea, is called the Trade winds. The actual equatorial belt is a place of strong convection, rain showers and thunderstorms. While the latter is sometimes associated with strong wind gusts, at sea, it is regarded as a place of calms between the rain and we call it the doldrums.
Along the African coast, sea breeze wind often happens. During the day, the land is warmer than the sea and the wind blows onshore. At night, it is the opposite.
The jet streams are strong altitude wind, at the top of the troposphere. It is caused by the strong change in air temperature and therefore, in the altitude of the tropopause, between the Hadley cell but mainly between the Ferrel cell and the polar one. This is where we find the polar front but that has nothing to do with Africa where the jet streams have little or nothing to do with the climate.
Now, I gave you the general climatic nature of Africa. I can't really say anything about the biome but perhaps you can deduce some facts from what I gave you. Good luck.
