How do you embroider monograms on bath towels by hand?
I wanted to personalize some towels for my boyfriend for Christmas, but unfortunately I don't own a sewing machine. (just an old one from my grandma with no "computer" screen where you could just program what you want and it sews it on for you).
I've done some extensive online search for embroidering it by hand...but I wasn't able to find anything. Is there a way I can embroider it by hand? on bath towels (not the linen ones)? Where could I find the monogram stencils?
Please help! Anything will be better than the not-helpful-online-search I've done so far! Thank you!
Bath towels have a very thick nap. Even when machine embroidering, you have to use a topper to hold down the nap as the stitching takes place.
You can purchase wash away stabilizer at fabric stores and sewing machine dealers.
Draw an outline of the letters on the topper and then begin the fill. Outline if desired.
